Rory McIlroy married Erica Stoll in Ashford Castle, Co. Mayo on Saturday, April 22nd… or so we thought. It turns out they got married a day earlier on Friday, April 21st.
At the time of the wedding, the details were kept very private with the media and everyone only knowing the location of the wedding and a suggested date of Saturday, April 22nd. But when there was an influx of fancy cars and helicopters to the area on that week, we knew the day had come.
The extra measures that Rory and Erica took to keep the event private clearly worked as they had been married a whole day before the date we knew.
According to RTÉ, a journalist with Irish Mail on Sunday reportedly saw their marriage certificate which lists Friday, April 21st as the date for their wedding.
