It can be hard to think of what to make for lunch every day.
First off, you want something that’s healthy. Secondly, you don’t want to have the same thing every single day. And thirdly, it has to be appetising.
There’s also the challenge of finding the time to make lunches and not wasting food. That’s where Green Isle ‘Heat & Eat’ Chicken comes in.
As it’s frozen (defrosting instructions below*), you can take out only what you need and it’s also incredibly versatile.
With that in mind and to help you keep that midday meal of yours interesting, here are 3 options for you and the kids to try out (because who has time to make two completely different lunches?)…
A Super Green Bagel
So the bagel itself isn’t green but most of the ingredients you’ll be adding to it are. Mash up some avocado (using a drop of lemon juice to keep it good) and use it as a spread for the bagel (you can pick a bagel of your choice such as plain or sesame seed). Then add some rocket, green peppers, red onion and Green Isle Natural Torn Chicken*.

A Chicken Wrap
Wraps are the new sandwich and they don’t take long to put together, hence the reason we love them. Try filling yours with some Green Isle Natural Torn Chicken, chopped tomatoes, lettuce and mixed peppers. You could even add a few spices or opt for the Cajun version of the Green Isle Natural Torn Chicken* if you’re feeling adventurous!

A Pasta Salad
Who says you need bread to have a filling lunch? Pasta works just as well. After cooking, put some aside and leave to cool. Then use it as the base of a salad also including Green Isle Natural Torn Chicken*, sweetcorn, cucumber, chopped tomatoes and a dressing of your choice. You can also heat the chicken (heating instructions below*).

*Directions for defrosting and heating
To defrost:
To eat cold, defrost the chicken pieces (only what you need) thoroughly in a refrigerator overnight. Product can also be defrosted by using a microwave defrost setting. Guideline per 100g is 4 minutes on defrost. Ensure that product is fully thawed and consume within 24 hours of defrosting.
To heat:
Please note that these instructions are guidelines only as cooking appliances can vary. For best results, cook from frozen and always check the product is piping hot before serving.
Wrap the Green Isle Natural Torn Chicken pieces loosely in foil on a baking tray in the centre of a preheated oven. For a fan-assisted over, heat for 20 minutes at 180°C/Gas mark 4. For a conventional oven, heat for 20 minutes at 200°C/Gas mark 4
