This Ingredient Will Make Your Salad Taste A Million Times Better

Trine Jensen-Burke

To me, summer is salad season.

I mean; it is the easiest thing to throw together, it goes with pretty much any sort of protein like chicken, meat or fish, and it just feels like the perfect, light and summery meal, no?

The thing is, according to many food experts, you could be making your salad a million times tastier with this one simple little trick. What is it, you may ask?

Salt.

No, seriously; hear us out here. I know what the general health advice is regarding salt, and that you are probably trying to keep your sodium levels in check. But did you know salad is derived from the Latin word salata, which literally means “salty”? Meaning, according to the pros, adding just a pinch of sea salt to your salad before tossing it will turn that hodgepodge of items in a bowl into a cohesive dish with brighter, more vibrant flavors.

Seriously, just add a sprinkle, and then go easy on the dressing. Trust us, it actually works.
