Sofia Vergara, star of Modern Family and her ex-fiance Nick Loeb are embroiled in a battle over two frozen embryos that were created using her eggs and his sperm in 2013 prior to their split last year.
Court papers revealed that the couple had filled out forms agreeing what to do about the embryos in the event of one of their deaths, but did not stipulate a course of action in the event of their separating. Now Loeb has filed a lawsuit to ensure the safety of the cryopreserved embryos while according to the lawsuit Vergara “hoped the (embryos would) ultimately be destroyed”.
The court papers, obtained by In Touch, also make claims that Vergara was “physically and mentally” abusive to her ex.
