Working in the customer service industry can be tricky.
You are dealing with the public so you are at the mercy of all kinds of different personalities and their various requests.
You can’t really have a bad day, or at least, you can’t bring a bad day to work, because it’s your job to be pleasant, smile and cater to your customer’s needs.
Having worked in customer service in various parts of the world, I can safely say that we Irish aren’t GREAT at customer service, which really bugs me because all you really have to do to be good at it, is to be nice to people.
Well, a cafe/kiosk in Suffolk have made quite the boo-boo recently with a Facebook post that has sent parents into a bit of a rage.
It read as follows:

OUCH.
As you can imagine, most customers of the South Kiosk who are parents too, were not one bit happy with the message and took to their Facebook page to voice their objections.
One customer, Sally Grant, said;
‘Thank you for your kind and understanding post. I’ll make sure my family (including our autistic daughter) never darken your doorway.’
The cafe has taken down their entire Facebook page today due to the backlash and it remains to be seen what further impact the decision to post this message will have.
What do you think? Were they right to issue a warning, asking parents to keep their kids under control, or have they no business insinuating that they might intervene with someone else’s child? Have your say in the comments on Facebook.
