A toddler has died following a tragic accident in the driveway of a home in Galway.
The child, who would have turned two-years-old in the autumn, was hit by a vehicle yesterday afternoon outside a house at Carraroe, Connemara.
According to newspaper reports, he was airlifted to University Hospital Galway but later succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead that evening.
Forensic investigators are on the scene this morning and a post mortem is due to be carried out later today.
