Gardaí are not looking for anyone else in connection to the death of an 11-month-old baby boy in Kerry on Mother’s Day.
The infant, Karol Rozycki, who was reportedly asphyxiated, was discovered by his mother Anna Rozycki when she returned home from work at the Aghadoe Heights Hotel, where she works as a chef.
According to the Irish Mirror, a man who is understood to be Ms. Rozycki’s partner was also found at the scene with suspected self-inflicted stab wounds at the Park Place apartment complex on Upper Highstreet in the town.
The man, Andrezej Piolunowicz, is being treated for injuries to his arms and stomach at Kerry University Hospital.
The alarm was raised by the child’s mother just before 6pm but despite the work of the emergency services team and a local doctor, who rushed to the house, the infant was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Park Place Apartments between 1pm and 6pm on Sunday to contact Killarney Garda station on 064-6671160.
