An Irishwoman who has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing a fellow Irish national to death in Sydney has had her court appearance adjourned until Wednesday.
Australian authorities have said that Cathrina Cahill (25), who is originally from New Ross in Wexford, will now face Sydney’s Parramatta local court on Wednesday after allegedly stabbing her fiancé of five weeks, Daithy Walsh (29), in the neck.
Paramedics were unable to revive Mr. Walsh, who also hailed from Wexford, and the dad-of-three tragically died as a result of his injuries on Friday.
Daithi Walsh is believed to have been working in construction, after emigrating three years ago. The Enniscorthy native met Cathrina Cahill (known as Tina) while living in Australia and the pair became engaged a little over a month ago.
Mr. Walsh has three young daughters from a previous relationship who live in Ireland.
