Kidnapped Boy Found ‘Disguised As A Girl’ At Finnish Lake Resort

A six-year-old boy who has been missing for two years has been found in Finland, according to local news.

A man and a woman have allegedly been detained by police after the boy, who had been disguised as a girl, was recovered from a rented summer cottage on Tampere’s lake Näsijärvi on Saturday.

No further details about the identity of the child have been released. The youngest person on the Finnish Missing Persons List, Karim Karbab, who disappeared in October, 2014.

According to YLE News, a 41-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man have been remanded in custody on suspicion of aggravated deprivation of personal liberty.

Police have confirmed that the boy is now safely in the care of social services:

“The child has been taken to a different location,” Inspector Pasi Nieminen said. “His appearance had been changed to try and stop him being found, he looked like a girl.”

According to reports, the boy vanished in 2014 when his father was convicted in a human trafficking case, along with a woman believed to be the man’s daughter. The woman the child was found with is allegedly an associate of his.
