The M50 is closed southbound after a “serious collision” so it might be best to avoid it if you’re travelling home from work or picking up the kids.
Both the Gardaí and Dublin Fire Brigade have confirmed that the road is closed at Junction 6 Blanchardstown following a crash.

According to some reports the collision involved a truck however this has not been confirmed. No further details about the incident have been disclosed.
There are diversions in place but motorists have been told to expect delays and are advised to avoid the motorway.
UPDATE (4.46pm): The right lane has now been reopened but the other two lanes will remain closed for further investigation.
It is being reported that a man was hit by a lorry.
