Frost and ice will continue for the day, particularly as you head north. Although temperatures may rise to between three and five degrees in the south, it will not exceed one or two degrees in the northern half of the country.
The situation is expected to improve tomorrow with a “cold and bright day” forecast.
There may be scattered showers and blustery winds for the west. Temperatures will rise slightly with four to six degrees expected and the milder weather is likely to continue into Saturday.
Take heed of AA’s warning this morning folks and allow time to de-ice your car.
Very cold this morning, with ice & frost across the country. Allow time to de-ice your car & remember it can take 10x longer to stop on icy roads. https://t.co/PSzIBsvOzE pic.twitter.com/tJqzXiFrH2
