What was yesterday, lads?
It’s was alright in the morning, a little bit cold but bearable. Then it got sunny (I even whipped out my sunglasses), then it started spitting rain and then there were hailstones. Hailstones.
It proceeded to get sunny again later on in the day, but let’s just say we’ve never seen such a sh*t show of a day when it comes to weather.
We were hoping that today would be a little bit tamer, but according to Met Éireann it will be a mix of sun, rain and wintry showers… so just like yesterday then.
Many areas dry this morning with a few sunny spells, mostly cloudy today with scattered showers. The showers will become more prolonged in north during the forenoon a& in other areas as the day goes on, with sleet on hills. A cold day in a strong northerly wind. The weather forecaster said: “Many areas dry this morning with a few sunny spells, but mostly cloudy today with scattered showers – some wintry on high ground.
“The showers will become more prolonged in the north during the forenoon and in other areas as the day goes on, with sleet on hills. A cold day in a strong northerly wind. Highest temperatures 6 to 9 degrees.”
And for tonight: “Tonight will be cloudy and breezy with dry spells in all areas, but with scattered outbreaks of rain also. The rain will be light generally and mainly affecting eastern areas with mist and sleet on hills. Northeast winds will be fresh and gusty. Lowest temperatures 1 to 4 degrees with a slight grass frost during any clear spells.”
