I am SO over the recent commentary on what constitutes sexual consent.
That the conversation still needs to be had is a sad reflection of how far behind we still are on the topic.
To hear that anyone can imagine there to be varying degrees of violation against another human being who did not wish to be touched by another in any way whatsoever, makes my blood boil.
I am so fed up that sexual offenders continue to have their acts of hatred towards their victims played down.
I am appalled to think that I still have to feel this huge over-protective burden towards my children when it comes to sexual deviants because they so widely exist and seemingly, roam free.
Thankfully, there are excellent videos like this one from the Thames Valley Police in the UK, who dumb the explanation of sexual consent down to a level that even the most manipulative defender of any perpetrator could understand.
Making a comparison between forcing a cup of tea down someone’s throat and forcing them to engage in sexual activity with another when they clearly say No may sound funny, and lots of the video is, but the serious message is right there.
You need full consent to touch or engage in any sexual activity with another human being.
