This birthday party didn’t end well…
One mum has come under fire after forcing her daughter’s friends to give her their teddies at a Build-A-Bear party.
One of the children’s mums spoke out about the incident on Reddit.
She explained that the party was held at Build-A-Bear but it didn’t go well. At the end of the party, she made her daughter’s guests, around eight children, give her the bears back.
“The invitation said each kid (about 8 total) would get to make a Bear,” the mum shared.
The mum assumed the guests would keep their bears, but she was wrong.
“Me and my husband even pitched in about 30 dollars as we know these things can get expensive,” the mum said.
When they were about to leave the store, the birthday girl’s mum told all of the children to give their bears to her daughter.
“Cue the upset and angry kids. They are all disappointingly handed over their animals.”
“Another little boy didn’t want to, and the friend ripped it out of his hands. I probably should have said something, but I didn’t. The other parents seemed pretty baffled too.”
“I left with my daughter pretty quickly, and once we got back into the car she just started bawling. I felt bad so we went to build a bear and got her a new one,” the mum said.
She asked: “I’m just wondering if this is totally normal and I should have expected this, or am I being an entitled parent?”
Reddit users quickly agreed that the other mum was completely out of order. Expecting the other kids to hand over their bears to her daughter was a completely selfish move and one that would put them off attending another one of her birthday parties.
