Weather Update: It’s About to Get EVEN HOTTER

Katie Mythen-Lynch

Ireland is basking in glorious sunshine this morning… and temperatures are set to continue rising into the bank holiday weekend.

Any mist or fog will soon clear along with any residual Monday-itis, according to Met Eireann, with long spells of sunshine throughout the day and mostly dry weather, apart from a few showers in the southwest later.

The mercury is expected to hit 20 or 21 C today (hotter than Barcelona and as warm as Ibiza) with more plentiful sunshine promised on Tuesday and hazy sunshine and temperatures of 22C forecast on Wednesday.

Thursday will be a little duller than the balmy conditions we’re becoming accustomed to, but we can still expect temperatures of 20C before things improve to 22C on Friday and stay that way for the June bank holiday weekend.

And it could be about to get even hotter:

“Current indications suggest the warm spell will persist into next weekend, possibly with even higher temperatures.” say Met Eireann.
