If you’ve been out and about already this morning, you will know that it’s absolutely freezing – as in so cold that you’ll need your hat, scarf and gloves.
According to Met Éireann, the rest of the week isn’t going to be any warmer.
Frost and ice is due to clear this morning leaving a very cold day with sunny spells and scattered showers that could turn wintry in parts. Highest temperatures will be around 3 to 7 degrees Celsius.
Tonight will bring more wintry showers and colder temperatures, between zero and 2 degrees Celsius, which means there will be a risk of ice.
Tuesday is expected to be cold and windy with a combination of bright spells and heavy showers. Tomorrow night will bring some sleet and possibly snow on higher ground as temperatures drop below zero in areas.
The outlook for the week is much of the same – pretty cold with scattered showers and a risk of frost – which means take care on the roads and put on plenty of layers.
