I can’t cope with all of the negativity and, to be honest, horsesh*t, being thrown Victoria Beckham’s way this week.
It was over a kiss – a sweet, innocent kiss on the lips with her daughter Harper, who turned five this week.
La Beckham posted a pic to her Instagram page of the beautiful moment between her and the birthday girl with a caption that read;
Happy birthday baby girl x We all love you so much x Kisses from mummy x
Totally normal and totally cute, right? Every single one of us does the same thing when our kid’s birthdays roll around.
(The only MAJOR difference between me and Posh Spice, of course, is that I am not kissing my kids in an infinity pool like that one any time soon. SAD FACE).
Anyway, the online world, in all their infinite crapness, did the usual on it and ruined the beautiful photo for everyone else.
They tried to sexualise the moment, they called it inappropriate, some total d*ckhead even went so far as to call her a ‘child molester’.
What. Is. Wrong. With. The World?
Here Are 5 Good Reasons Why You Should Always Kiss Your Kids On The Lips:
1. You are their first love
As mum and dad to your children, you are their very first love. In fact, you will forever more be the love of their lives, if you play your cards right. A kiss on the lips between you should be as natural as the air you breathe. I am a grown woman who still kisses my parents on the lips!
2. Kisses are lovely
Who doesn’t love kisses? My two-year-old daughter holds our faces and delivers epic kisses on us that go on for ages and then we all roar laughing afterwards because we know she REALLY meant it.
3. Real kisses are hard to come by
If you have ever gotten a surprise kiss and a hug from one of your kids, you will know the feeling of unconditional love. Sometimes, they just suddenly plant one on you and tell you that they love you and your heart MELTS.
4. When life gets tough, we always have kisses
The World we live in has been so troubled lately between one thing and another, and at the end of the day, family and love are all that matters. We need to hang on to our hugs and kisses as much as we can.
5. Our kids might grow out of kisses one day
I know there will be a time when neither of my kids will be that comfortable with kissing me in public – or any place for that matter – and so I’ll take all my smooches now while I can, thank you.
