Blogosphere: 3 cool things from parent bloggers this week

Sicko Smoothies are on the menu this week

HerFamily

1 Sicko Smoothies from The Mama’s Hip

Thanks to the snot fest currently taking place in my own house, I’ve been on the look out for immune boosting ideas a lot recently. Luckily for me, this mum of two, who is fed up of being stuck in the house with sneezing, coughing kids, decided to share her smoothie recipe for anyone who wants to boost their family’s immunity during the cold season. She says, “I started making these three mornings ago and the kids are improving slowly but surely.”

She continues, “That title should probably read ‘Health-boosting smoothies’ or ‘Immunity-raising smoothies’ but I can’t be bothered.” Personally, I love the name, and I can’t wait to try them. You can give the recipe a whirl, here.

2 Three-Ingredient Homemade Body Lotion from Sweet Madeleine

Mum of one, Madeleine has had a few requests for this lush lotion recipe recently, so decided to publish it again. I’m glad she did because I’m a real sucker for body lotions, especially ones that are free from any nasties. Talking about the recipe, she says, “It’s dead-simple, natural, and an absolutely delicious replacement for store-bought lotions. My skin has never felt smoother, and it uses just three ingredients.”

Sold. You can read how to get down to the business of lotion making, here.

3 Clear Your Mind Space from Heart and Habit

The first in a series of short posts that aim to clear the mind clutter, mum of two, Brandy has published some stellar advice about making to-do lists. She says, “When I have a full to-do list, things that I know I need to do, tasks that overwhelm me at the thought, or circumstances I just can’t get out of my mind they literally drag me down. Even the smallest tasks sometimes take up highly sought after real estate in my brain (really it’s expensive real estate). In order to get to the important and often really creative tasks on my list (or mind) I need to cross off the smaller ones so I can gain some focus back.”

In a bid to clear some space, I’ve already started making my actionable to-do list. You can find out how to make yours, here.
