You gotta do what you gotta do
As a parent, you learn pretty quickly that it’s not always easy to get your children’s attention.
At times it even feels like they have selective hearing – especially when it’s time to wake up for school.
One mum came up with a clever tactic to make sure her kids hear her loud and clear when it’s time to get out of bed.
Taking to TikTok, Shelley Walker shared the stress-free hack for getting her three sons down the stairs in the morning.
In the clip, the mum-of-three showed that she had installed three wireless doorbells that connect to each of her son’s rooms.
Above her kitchen cupboard, the three doorbells have each of her children’s names written which she simply has to press if she needs them downstairs.
‘Frustrated’ by having to constantly shout up the stairs to her sons, she came up with a solution that worked for everyone.
“Anyone else sick of shouting upstairs, being ignored then running up to get the kids down for dinner?!” Shelley wrote in the caption.
“Now I can call the boys nicely without the frustration of shouting my head off.”
@shellwalker813 Anyone else sick of shouting upstairs, being ignored then running up to get the kids down for dinner?! I found these little beauties online yesterday that have worked a treat! You can stick them anywhere, they’re fully wireless and they do not interfere with each other’s signals. Fellow parents have since hailed the parenting move and even offered suggestions on other ways to help get their children’s attention.
“I use the alexa announcement or drop in function,” one shared.
“buy a normal landline phone set with multiple… each one gets one and you can make house calls,” another suggested.
“we brought deaf doorbells so they flash in their rooms it works great,” a third wrote.
