This Dad Makes Intricate Toast Sculptures For His Kids Every Day

Katie Mythen-Lynch

The average parent is thrilled if they manage to any food at all into their kids in the morning, but one dad has found a (labour intensive, completely unfeasible) method to ensuring his children are always excited about breakfast.

Adam Perry was inspired to get seriously creative with his serving techniques when one of his two daughters, aged nine and 13, developed a severe food allergy and was limited to eating the same breakfast every day: plain white toast and sunflower oil.

Perry decided he’d try to make her boring brekkie a little more interesting and set about creating his first toast sculpture, kicking off with a model of the London Eye…

The UK-based dad told ABC:  I started playing with toast to get her excited about her breakfast again and to make both the girls laugh when they came down to eat.”

Soon his miniature carb sculptures were becoming more and more detailed…

Having shared a few of his creations on Instagram, Perry soon built up a large following of almost 4,000 fans – all eager to see his next creations.

“I decided to open an Instagram account (@2slicesoftoast) dedicated to toast, just for fun, and vowed to my kids that I’d create something out of toast every morning for at least a year to make them smile, and that’s how it started!” he said.

We love his brilliant creations. We just won’t be attempting them ourselves come back-to-school
