What the Happy Self Journal is and how it can help your child’s mental health

Melissa Carton

The start of a new year can fill children with anxieties.

For some, it will mean exams, for others a change of school or even lead to the transitioning from primary to secondary, for others separation anxiety.

It’s not always easy as parents to know how to help our children when it comes to their mental wellbeing but this journal is a great start.

The Happy Self Journal is a journal aimed at kids between the ages of six and twelve to promote happiness, develop positive habits and nurture enquiring minds.

Created by mum of two Francesca, she said her reason behind the journal was a feeling that children were becoming too stressed out at an early age.

“I was fed up of reading daily reports in the press of how our kids are growing up stressed and the effects of social media etc that I really felt I wanted to do something to help children develop healthy habits as they grow up in this increasingly busy and switched on world.”

The journal and workbook is filled with positive quotes, daily reflections, questions about what makes you feel happy and grateful as well as activities that all the family can get involved with.

The aim of the journal is to get kids focused on the positives and let the negative things slide.

The Happy Self Journal is €23 and available to buy from the Happy Self website.
