Brought to you by The Mansion House
This Dublin City landmark will become a one-stop spook shop for little and big kids alike.
Spooky season is in full effect and between stocking up on fun-sized treats, planning traditional Halloween games and putting the finishing touches on our costumes, we’re hoping to squeeze in some family fun.
This Halloween, The Lord Mayor of Dublin James Geoghegan will be throwing open the doors of the historic Mansion House to families ready to embrace spooky season head on.
Over the course of four days, the Mansion House will host A Paranormal Investigation (PG 13+) and a Family Friendly Pumpkin Patch, and it’s exactly what we need to ease us into the Halloween spirit.
Announcing the event, James Geoghegan said: “So this year I’ve decided to turn the city’s most famous house into a haunted one! The Mansion House is over 300 years old, so who knows there might already be some ghostly activities in the building even when it’s not Halloween. But this year I’m making it official. There will be lots for everyone to do, so come along…if you dare!”

The Paranormal Investigation is geared towards teenagers, and it will see them venture through the eerie rooms of the Mansion House, as they listen to chilling ghost stories, brought to life through special effects.
Throughout the run, the Mansion House will be scheduling relaxed performances of The Scare Experience. At the launch, the Lord Mayor stated that these relaxed performances form part of Dublin’s ongoing commitment to becoming the first neurodiverse capital city in the world. Relaxed performances of The Scare Experience for neurodivergent audiences will take place on 31 October and 2 November.
The Paranormal Investigation will run for four days, starting on Wednesday 30 October and tickets cost €5 per person per time slot, and that includes a €2 charity donation to Barnardo’s and a €1 book fee. Time slots will run between 4pm – 8pm daily. Tickets can be booked right here. A number of tickets will also be made available for use by inner city community groups and other community initiatives located around Dublin City.
Younger visitors, meanwhile, will be welcome to explore the Pumpkin Patch of the Mansion House Garden, where face-painting, photo opportunities and Halloween decor awaits.
The Pumpkin Patch will be free of charge and it will operate on a first-come first-served queuing basis. The Pumpkin Patch in the Mansion House Garden will be open on Friday November 1st & Saturday November 2nd from 12pm to 4pm daily.
